Ingredients
Chocolate Cake:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup canola or vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brewed coffee
- 1/2 cup unsweetened natural cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Chocolate Ganache:
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup half-and-half
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make Chocolate Cake With Chocolate Ganache:
Beat the egg with sugar and stir in the oil, cold coffee and yogurt. Mix in the cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, vanilla and incorporate flour. Pour dough into a greased and floured cake pan and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees F. Melt chocolate chips into a double boiler, add half and half and keep stirring until creamy. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Let it rest and whisk ganache before spreading over the cold cake. Refrigerate before serving.
