Chicken tikka, is a chicken dish originating in the Punjab region of the Indian Subcontinent; the dish is popular in India and Pakistan.


  • 1 chicken
  • 3 to 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 small papaya
  • 2 red chillies
  • salt to taste
  • 10 very small white onions
  • 4 to 6 firm medium sized tomatoes
  • 30 gms ginger
  • 2 green chillies
  • 30 gms onion
  • 115 gms. Curds / Yogurt
  • oil for basting

Chicken Tikka Recipe

  1. Cut chicken into cubes.
  2. Grind ginger, garlic, green chillies, onions and red chillies.
  3. Mix with curd and salt to taste and pieces of papaya and marinate the chicken in the above mixture and keep for about 2 hours.
  4. Put on skewer.
  5. Brush with oil and cook on a tawa till done, turning it often to grill evenly.
