Coconut Toffee Recipe By Zeenat Iqbal Hakimjee
Ingredients
- 1 medium sized coconut (desiccated)
- ½ lb. sugar
- Rose essence
- Food color
- ½ cup water
- 1 oz. butter
- 4 cardamoms.
Method
- Melt sugar in ½ cup of water (on fire) when it is ready add coconut.
- Stir for a while then add powder or cardamoms and 2 lumps of butter.
- Keep on stirring so that it does not get burnt.
- When it gets dry(no liquid remains) add ½ teaspoon of essence and few drops of Food color for coloring (but only, when the toffee is white).
- Again put on fire and when it gets completely dry spread on a large plate, previously greased.
- Press with a greasy-paper.
- Make a round shape and then cut into pieces with a knife.
