The taste of this peppermint and chocolate combination is best described as the cake version of a mint Feast.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 2/3 cups cocoa powder
- 3 eggs, room temperature
- 1-1/4 cups flour
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup chocolate mint chips
Chocolate Peppermint Cake Recipe
- In bowl of mixer add butter, sugar, salt, extracts and cocoa powder. Mix till combined.
Add eggs one at a time and mix well. - Turn mixer to low add half of the flour. Then add milk. Add the remaining flour and mix till incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour into prepared pan and bake for 55-65 minutes. Insert toothpick in center till it comes out clean when loaf is baked.
- Cool on wire rack.
